MARC Record Examples of RDA Cataloging

In order to facilitate RDA education and training, the Joint Steering Committee tor Development of RDA (JSC) has issued full MARC record examples of RDA cataloging. Each document is bookmarked to allow for easy navigation between examples. Each example includes both a RDA element view and a MARC encoding view of the record. RDA examples

Library of Congress preparing for RDA‏

The Policy and Standards Division, part of the Acquisitions and Bibliographic Access Directorate at the Library of Congress, is launching a new website as the Library prepares for RDA. The site is located at: http://www.loc.gov/aba/rda/. There are links to training documents, presentations, exercises, and examples of records as well as to other RDA related sites. Many more links will be added as items are created, edited, and updated as preparations for RDA proceed. The page originally created for LC documentation related to the US RDA Test will no longer be maintained. Links from that site will be migrated to the new site over time as appropriate...

The Library of Congress, the National Agricultural Library, and the National Library of Medicine are pleased to issue a statement from the Executives of the three libraries regarding the Report and Recommendations of the U.S. RDA Test Coordinating Committee on the implementation of RDA-Resource Description & Access. This statement and the Executive Summary of the Committee's Report and Recommendations are being issued to allow interested parties sufficient time to review prior to the upcoming Annual Conference of the American Library Association in New Orleans, June 23 -28. The full Report and Recommendations will be available prior the ALA Annual Conference on the Testing Resource Description and Access Home Page: http://www.loc.gov/bibliographic-future/rda/

The Co-Publishers of the RDA Toolkit (American Library Association, Canadian Library Association, and CILIP—through its publishing imprint, Facet Publishing) are delighted to announce that the RDA Toolkit is going live Wednesday, June 23. If you have already signed up for free open access, you will receive an email with your login information. For institutional access, an email with login information will be sent to the email address provided during sign-up.
